The Bank of England will soon publish its investigation into the financial barriers facing social enterprises. The centrepiece of the Department of Trade and Industry (DT1)Enterprise Strategy, the Bank of England review, due for release in April should give a comprehensive picture of the debt and equity financing available to community businesses from mainstream banks. Community Development Finance Initiatives, business angels or venture capitalists. Where gaps or barriers in demand or supply are identified by the Bank, the Government has promised to take forward recommendations on how to address them.
