The government wants strong voluntary and community organisations fully involved in service delivery and has committed £93 million to achieve this. This free consultation event will be your best opportunity ever to influence the way the money is spent but theres only 150 places.Last year, the Treasury reviewed voluntary and Community organisations service delivery finding key barriers to involvement: lack of capacitypatchy public investment in in the umbrella organisations that give them support and a voice (the Sectors infrastructure). So Governments Active Community Unit (ACU) drafted Voluntary and Community Sector Infrastructure. After its finalised, this document will help determine Governments Capacity Building and infrastructure Framework and how the £93 million is spent. The moneys important but perhaps more so is the fact that the infrastructure will have to be fit for the purpose as judged by a performance framework to be developed by Government and the Sector. This is a chance to share your concerns with your peers and tease out the issues and problems.
