Standards in Fundraising on the Way!The Voluntary Sector National Training Organisation (VSNTO) has recently launched a UK project to develop National Occupational Standards (NOS) and an S/NVQ in fundraising. This will hopefully come as welcome news for the thousands of people involved in fundraising activities as well as those who recruit, manage and train fundraisers. This is a very important project given the crucial role fundraising has to play in the sustainability of voluntary sector services

The Sustainable Funding Project is a first-stop shop helping voluntary organisations explore a full range of funding options and develop a sustainable funding mix. It promotes thorough organisational planning, grant diversification and income generation as 3 key means of enhancing organisational financial stability. It is particularly concerned with the third of these inter-related strands: how can the voluntary and community sector earn independent income?Update addresses these three key themes – planning, fundraising, earning – with a particular focus on income-generation.
