Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001: Scoping staff development and associated activities CRM 495 – Consultation seminar Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001: Scoping staff development and associated activities CRM 495 – Consultation seminar
The Learning and Skills Development Agency in partnership with NIACE and Skill is carrying out a research project for LSC to identify staff and organisational development needs so that further and adult education providers can better meet the needs of disabled learners. Under the terms of the new Act, it will, in phases from September 2002, be unlawful for institutions to discriminate against disabled learners by treating them less favourably than others or by failing to make reasonable adjustments. This has major implications for providers. An overview of the project is attached.
