Forum: Department of Health Training

Good and bad news.Good newsThe Department of Health is planning, as they have in the past, to make workforce training grants to organisations offering domiciliary social care. Bad news Recently, after “consultation”, the DoH decided that eligible workers were paid staff only. Voluntary and community organisations often have more voluntary staff than paid staff. Good newsIn the past, part of this DoH money was ring-fenced for voluntary and community organisations. Bad news Not this time. As a result, most, if not all, of the money, will go to private and public sector employees.
