I am working with Emil Brannen of Surrey County Council and the LSC to put together a research project to identify the barriers to learnining in Surrey for wokers (volunteer and salaried) in the tourism/cultural sector.

Below is a list of points raised in the workshops at the Share the Learning event, we would welcome your input into the debate:

1. Reducing record keeping/paperwork for the learner. Systems should respect individuals.2. Asking people what they want and design accordingly3. Ensure range of opportunities to meet learning needs and styles4. Challenge people's perceptions - including your own staff and volunteers5. More bite-sized/have a go6. Better input into LLSC consultation and planning7. LLSC support for few numbers8. Learner support9. Support for outreach10. Two-way communication channel11. Information and guidance12. Incentives for learners13. Accessibility14. 'Safe' places for learning15. Practical and creative ways to take learning to learners16. Pathways to learning valued.
