Role
South East Arts is the regional arts development agency for Kent, Surrey, East Sussex, West Sussex, and the unitary authorities of Brighton and Hove, and Medway.
South East Arts provides advice, information and support.
It also offers a range of funding programmes.
There are five departments: executive; performing arts; visual and media arts; strategy and external affairs; and resources.

Accountability
The regional arts boards are currently going through a process of restructure - moving from being independent bodies reporting to the Arts Council to being regional arms of the Arts Council.

Regional Links
With the New Opportunities Fund, Community Fund, Heritage Lottery Fund, and Sport England they contribute to the Awards for All lottery programme.

They are feeding in to the Regional Cultural Consortium.
