| Sure Start is an area-based initiative which aims to improve the health and well-being of families and children, before and from birth to four years, so that children flourish at home and when they go to school. Local Sure Start programmes work to improve services for families with children under four years old, spreading good practice to everyone involved in providing services for young children. Sure Start operates in communities with a high proportion of children living in poverty and is the cornerstone of the Governments?s drive to tackle child poverty and social exclusion. |
