Job Title:

Community Worker with a Focus on Bangladeshi People 14 hrs/week

Job Description:

We are looking to recruit a community worker who will focus on outreaching and building empowering relationships with Bangladeshi people, providing support in Bengali (Sylheti) as required. The work will cover Wealden, Rother and Lewes Districts and Eastbourne in the county of East Sussex.Key responsibilities include:* Providing information and advocacy support* Organising community events* Supporting the creation of community groups* Supporting community involvement in local planning and decision making

Salary Details:

£19,185 pro rata with up to 6% pension. The post is funded by the Community Fund for 3 years.

Person Description:

The post holder will have successful experience of outreach and community development work; experience of successful collaboration with public agencies; be pro active, and able to work creatively and collaboratively in a close team based environment.
