Job Description:

The Sands Project (opening Spring / Summer of 2005) based in Bognor Regis is a new purpose-built ten bed centre for clients who are or have experienced addiction problems. The project stems from a successful partnership between the voluntary, public and private sectors. You will be recruited before the project opens to assist and lead in: the recruitment of the staff team, the development of policies, procedures and other literature, liaison with the builders and other contractors, representation of the project to stakeholders and understanding and learning about the partner organisations. It is important to realise that the job description for the first few months will be different to that once the project opens and the post holder will require the flexibility to understand the demands of this changing situation.

Salary Details:

Nursing Scale G (£23,110 - £27,190 pa) Pay Award Pending

Person Description:

We are looking for a Project Manager with a nursing, social work or counselling diploma and at least 2 years experience in a staff supervisory role. Management qualifications and an enthusiastic and supportive approach to dealing with associated problems of homeless people, offenders and substance misusers are essential. You should have experience of working with external stakeholders within the addiction field and of residential settings in either addiction or homelessness fields. Excellent communication, liaison and organisational skills and an understanding of drug and alcohol use and harm reduction approaches are vital.

In addition we are funded through West Sussex County Council Social and Caring Services to provide accommodation for young unaccompanied asylum seekers.
