RAISE welcomes the opportunity to comment on the Regional Health Strategy and is pleased that the South East now has a regional strategy for health to sit alongside the South East Plan (the regional spatial strategy), the Regional Economic Strategy (RES) and within the Regional Sustainability Framework. However we are disappointed that the strategy was not formally consulted on for a 12 week period in line with the Compact1 between the Government and the Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS). We are also seriously concerned that the strategy makes no mention of the VCS* who will have a crucial role to play in its implementation.
