Summary:

The Government undertook, with support from task groups involving the Voluntary & Community Sector, the Cross Cutting Review (CCR) into the role of the Voluntary & Community Sector into service delivery. The CCR was completed and published in September 2002. That review has now resulted in a series of actions within Government, some of which are at a consultation phase, in particular the Home Office led Consultation document on Voluntary & Community Sector Infrastructure (published on the 17th September 2003), the review of the legal status of organizations in the sector (Private Action, Public Benefit).However, there is also a considerable amount of action and implementation already initiated that is not the subject of consultation, as it is actionable within existing Government Department regulations or guidance.The Treasury’s response to the CCR is one of these documents
