Minorithy Ethnic Carers Support worker

Job Description:

Minority & Ethnic Carers Support Worker.Funded for 5 years – 10 hours funding to be secured years 2-5)The post holder will have a key role in developing the existing service for unpaid carers at the Medway Carers Centre and will contribute to ensuring our services are accessible and relevant to the needs of users and community groups from minority and ethnic backgrounds; both individually and in groups. To identify new unpaid carers from the minority and ethnic communities in Medway; as well as develop new partnerships in delivering support to this group.Any person applying for this post will need to speak & understand Punjabi and Hindi.The Princess Royal Trust Medway Carers Centre is committed to Equal Opportunities.Section 5(1) and 5(2) (d) of the Race Relations Act 1976 appliesThe Princess Royal Trust Medway Carers Centre aiming to improve the experience of Black and Minority Ethnic Communities who use their services.

Person Description:

We are looking for someone who has knowledge and experience of dealing with unpaid carers form the ethmic minority communities. To support unpaid carers both individually and in groups. We are looking for someone to develop the existing service and to raise awareness of carers needs both in the statutory and voluntary sector.
