RAISE Chief Executive Officer

Job Description:

As the CEO of RAISE the post holder will lead the organisation to influence regional policy makers for the benefit of the voluntary/community sector (VCS). Working with the democratically elected RAISE Board you will continue to develop a strong and articulate ‘voice’ in the region for the VCS. With proven leadership skills, an excellent strategic mind and a passion for social justice and civic society, you will champion the VCS unique contribution to making South East England socially, economically and environmentally sustainable. You will have a good understanding of the national and regional policies and initiatives which are impacting on the VCS and their relationship to the work of RAISE. Supported by an experienced Assistant CEO and strong staff team you will oversee the management of the organisation and become the ‘face’ of RAISE.

Salary Details:

Salary £56,600, plus 10% pension

Person Description:

You will:- Offer leadership for the VCS when appropriate, to lobby and influence policy makers in the region and work closely with key regional agencies such as SEEDA, GOSE, LSC and the Regional Assembly.- Assist and where appropriate lead the RAISE Board and staff team in the development of activities which ensure that RAISE achieves its mission, aims and objectives.- Using your extensive knowledge and experience in the VCS you will be able to ‘stand up’ for the sector and advocate on their behalf in a range of arenas and partnerships.RAISE welcomes applications from all sections of the community and is committed to being an equal opportunities employer that embraces diversity.
