There are 3 types of RAISE membership.

  1. Full

    Full members comprise the RAISE governing body. All full RAISE member organisations can vote to elect RAISE Board members. To be a RAISE full member, an organisation must fulfill 9 simple criteria. It must:

    1. pursue generally charitable or philanthropic objectives for the benefit of the community;
    2. deliver a service to people in and be active in the South East;
    3. not exist to pursue party political, governmental or commercial objectives;
    4. be non-profit distributing;
    5. be accountable to members or users in the South East;
    6. be primarily governed by volunteers;
    7. have a constitution or other accepted rules of working;
    8. have properly convened meetings from time to time for reporting to members or users;
    9. subscribe to the aims and objectives of working.
  2. Associate

    An organisation is automatically an Associate member if your organisation is a full member of an umbrella organisation which itself is a full member of RAISE. National voluntary/community organisations that operate in the South East region are also eligible as Associate members. Within RAISE, Associate members do not have a vote in RAISE Board elections. Associate members are eligible to attend RAISE events by contacting RAISE.

  3. Affiliate

    Affiliate members are those organisations who do not fulfill the criteria for Full or Associate membership but are interested in the work of RAISE. Affiliate members do not have a vote in RAISE Board elections. Affiliate members are eligible to attend RAISE events and also receive RAISE postal newsletters, email bulletins, RAISE publications and reports.
