Social Audit
Social auditing assesses the social impact of an organisation in relation to its aims and objectives. It provides a structured framework which allows an organisation to account for its social performance and to better understand its impact on stakeholders.
In April 2004, RAISE began to conduct a pilot social audit through an external auditor. The work done can be broken down into two phases. Compilation of the social accounts involved collecting, analysing, and interpreting a range of information in order to produce an account of performance. A key feature of the process has been stakeholder dialogue and as part of this a survey was sent to and received from a sample of RAISE members to collect your views.
This was followed by an audit phase which sought to review and verify the information which was collected. The full audit report can be downloaded

The final stage of the work involved the production of a toolkit which provides advice and guidance for those interested in the concept of social audit. This can be downloaded
